* Son Goku: Son Goku has two sons named Son Gohan and Son Goten. Goku is believed to be the most powerful being in the entire universe. His father's name was Bardock and his brother is Raditz. Goku possessed all the Dragonballs at the end of DBGT when he was taken by the Shenlong. Son Goku was the first to become Super Saiyan 4, (achieved later on in the story by Vegeta, using a wave created by Bulma because of his missing tail). During the Buu saga, he was brought to life for a limited time so that he could compete in the World Martial Arts competition on earth, but events lead to the unraveling of Majin Buu. After his time was up, Elder Kai gave his life in place for Goku's so Goku could fuse with Gohan through the Potara Ear rings. This failed since Gohan was absorbed so Goku decided to fuse with Vegeta to create Vegeto.
* Son Gohan: Son Gohan is a fictional character in the Dragon Ball Z manga and anime metaseries by Akira Toriyama and Dragon Ball GT. He is the first son of Goku and a half-breed Saiyan. He is named after Goku's adoptive Grandpa Son Gohan. Gohan's name is a homophone for gohan, the Japanese word for cooked rice which also refers to meals in general. In Mandarin, the reading of is homophone for (wûfàn), meaning lunch. He is referred to simply as Gohan in the FUNimation English dub of Dragon Ball Z and GT.
* Son Goten: Son Goten, or simply Goten in the FUNimation dub, is a fictional character in the manga and anime Dragon Ball Z, as well as appearing in Dragon Ball GT - all of which are based on the works of Dragon Ball by Akira Toriyama. He is the second son of Son Goku and is also a Human-Saiyan half-breed. In the anime he is voiced by Masako Nozawa in the original Japanese version, and by Kara Edwards in the English dub.
* Piccolo: Piccolo is a fictional character from the Dragon Ball series. He is the son/reincarnation of Piccolo Daimaō (Piccolo the Great Demon King) and was spawned to avenge his sire's death at the hands of Goku. Like Daimaō, he appears as a tall green humanoid.
* Vegeta: Vegeta or Prince Vegeta is a fictional character, villain, anti-hero and later hero in the manga Dragon Ball and anime Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT. He is the prince of the fallen Saiyan race, archrival to Son Goku and a powerful warrior.
* Bulma: Bulma (Romaji: Buruma. In the English translation of the anime and manga it is implied that her full name is Bulma Brief (or sometimes Bulma Briefs). She is a fictional human who is the Dragon Ball series' longest appearing female character. As common in the Dragon Ball universe, family names are based on themed objects (also useful as a mnemonic device); in her case, these are types of garments. Bulma is based off of a Japanese pun that refers to bloomers, a type of gym shorts (trousers). Her Japanese seiyū is Hiromi Tsuru, and in the FUNimation English dub she is voiced by Tiffany Vollmer. Her original English voice actor for the Ocean Group is Lalainia Lindbjerg, and when the Canadian dub resurfaced, Maggie Blue O'Hara took over for Season 5.
